2017 Reading Challenges: August Update - Walking Through The Pages
So it’s the first of September! And it’s Harry Potter’s nineteen years later! School is starting back up, even here! And this is my 2017 Reading Challenges August Update! Books Read Harry Potter and his Veela Mate, Ares.Granger The Castle of Adventure, Enid Blyton Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns), Mindy Kaling (review) Why Not Me?, Mindy Kaling (review coming!) Fixing Past Mistakes, DebstTheSlytherinSnapeFan Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, J.K. Rowling Lost In Love, Kate Perry Let’s Misbehave, Kate Perry Stay The Night, Kate Perry You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me, Sarra Manning That gives me a grant total of only 10 books this month – 2 of which are fanfictions, so they don’t even count for my Goodreads Challenge! Then again, I spent half of this month travelling – code for: I was the co-chauffeur, so I couldn’t really read. And then the other half, I was moving. Again: not too many reading-opportunities. So all that concerned? Still pretty happy with all of that! When you’re moving and have to set your priorities… So you get your shelves set up first 🙂 … #walkingthroughthepages #books #book #read #reading #reader #instagood #bookstagram #bookblogger #bookblog #booklovers #bibliophile #bookaddict #blogger #blog #instalove #instabooks #instapic #literature #goodreads #amreading #bookphotography #greatreads #whattoread #bookworld #booknerd #moving #shelfie A post shared by Saar (@walkingthroughthepages) on Aug 25, 2017 at 8:23am PDT Look back The one thing I wish were different, is the fact that there’s not really any books that stood out to me. Sure, I really enjoyed Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, but that was mainly because I loved the movie. The fanfictions were actually new ones – which is a good thing, cuz I tend to just reread the same ones. Fantastic Beast was the only book on my TBR for the #booktubeathon I didn’t get to – seems quite fitting to start it on an actual STEAM TRAIN riding through the Welsh hills, doesn’t it? … What’s the most fitting place you’ve ever read a book? (And yes, I’m aware I should’ve brought The Railway Children along, that would’ve been even better) … #walkingthroughthepages #books #book #reading #reader #instagood #bookstagram #bookblogger #bookblog #booklovers #bibliophile #bookaddict #blogger #blog #instalove #instabooks #instapic #literature #goodreads #amreading #bookphotography #greatreads #whattoread #bookworld #booknerd #holidayreading #currentlyreading #fantasticbeasts #fantasticbeastsandwheretofindthem A post shared by Saar (@walkingthroughthepages) on Aug 10, 2017 at 5:08am PDT As for the Kate Perry books – those are just a trend, this year aren’t they? I’ll tell you the same thing I said in my review of her That Kind of Girl and What a Girl Wants: these are the sort of books you read purely for relaxation. And I totally love that about them. As for my reading challenges? Let’s just say I’ve given myself a mental break. Quite frankly, I was kind of in danger of getting myself into a reading slump, this past month, so I gave myself permission to just read whatever I wanted. No serious reading, no interesting books, no big thoughts. Just large amounts of fluff, romance and nostalgia. And let’s be real. I loved every minute of it 🙂 What have you been reading this past month? Do you have any recs for me? Be sure to let me know below! -Saar
