2017 Reading Challenges: March Update - Walking Through The Pages
So this month, I started out by accidentally deleting every spreadsheet that documented my reading. As a consequence, I’ve decided to be done with the whole Read around the World for now – simply because I don’t have time to look up all that info again. The other challenges, however, I do think I found back. Well, at least… I hope I did. Either way: here’s the March update for my 2017 Reading Challenges! 1. Goodreads Reading Challenge Yeah… Reading… That illustruous thing I do when I have time… Hint: I didn’t have time. So I didn’t read all that much – but at least I got some reading done, right? Never Never, Colleen Hoover (review) How to Lose a Duke in Ten Days, Kate McKinley Perfect for You, Kate Perry The Substitute, Denise Grover Swank (review) You and Me, Always, Jill Mansell The War of the Worlds, H.G. Wells The Wedding Gift, Lucy Kevin (review) De Poenschepper, Willy Vandersteen Het Eiland Amoras, Willy Vandersteen Het gouden paard, Willy Vandersteen De Dromendiefstal, Willy Vandersteen De wilde weldoener, Willy Vandersteen Het vliegende bed, Willy Vandersteen Lambiorix, Willy Vandersteen Prinses Zagemeel, Willy Vandersteen De Tuf-Tuf-Club, Willy Vandersteen Het hondenparadijs, Willy Vandersteen De Zwarte Madam, Willy Vandersteen De straatridder, Willy Vandersteen De Bokkerijders, Willy Vandersteen De kaartendans, Willy Vandersteen A couple of days ago, I got so tired of trying to find the time to get to reading, I just grabbed a bunch of comics. So naturally, I ended up reading a couple of them. And luckily, because those are also just about the only reason I got anything done on my other reading challenges. So, you know, let’s not look down on comics, ‘mkay? 2.Challies.com 2017 Reading Challenge A book by or about a missionary: De Wilde Weldoener, Willy Vandersteen A book about church history: Lambiorix, Willy Vandersteen A book with a one-word title: The Substitute, Denise Grover Swank At least one book that’s not a comic! Yay! 3. Popsugar Reading Challenge A book that is a story within a story: De Kaartendans, Willy Vandersteen A book with multiple authors: Never Never, Colleen Hoover & Tarryn Fischer A book with a cat on the cover: De Zwarte Madam, Willy Vandersteen A book from a nonhuman perspective: Het Hondenparadijs, Willy Vandersteen A book with a red spine: De Dromendiefstal, Willy Vandersteen A book with pictures: De Bokkenrijders, Willy Vandersteen A book recommended by an author you love: De Wilde Weldoener, Willy Vandersteen A book that’s been mentioned in another book: Het Eiland Amoras, Willy Vandersteen Look at all the comics! All the comics! And let’s complete ignore and not talk about that one horrible, awful thing that is that one book on the second place. Seriously – if you want to hear me be seriously disappointed by that book for an entire review, go read it. Otherwise, I’d advise you to stay clear of that book. 4. Modern Mrs Darcy Reading Challenge(s) A book of any genre that addresses current events: De Wilde Weldoener, Willy Vandersteen A book with an unreliable narrator or ambiguous ending: Prinses Zagemeel, Willy Vandersteen At least I already read quite a lot for this one? And, you know, I got nothing for all the rest of the challenges. Because, well… Reading Around the World is just not a challenge you can set back up in just a couple of minutes. Which is all I have left now to get this post online, apparently… Be sure to let me know below what books you’ve been reading and – if you’ve read any of them – what you thought of the ones on this month’s list! -Saar
