As promised last week: my summer TBR! From fluffy books to classics, taking along some thought-inducing reading along the way: these are the books I’m hoping to read this summer. No doubt many will be added and even more will be dropped, but as for now? These are the books on my summer TBR. This post is not sponsored in any way or form. Two’s Company*, Jill Mansell: This is actually one of Jill Mansell’s older works, and as such I think it just completely passed me by. I managed to get my hands on it for virtually no money just a couple of weeks back, so I’m hoping I get around to reading it this summer! 2. Once and for All*, Sarah Dessen: I had a period about one or two years back where I read everything Sarah Dessen. That’s calmed down considerably now, but I’m still looking forward to reading this one. I’ve loved just about all of her works that I’ve read so far, and I’m hoping this one doesn’t disappoint 🙂 3. You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me*, Sarra Manning: One of the things I really like about Sarra Mannings work, is that her characters exist throughout her different books. So you’ll be reading a random book and get an update on how the characters from another one of her books are doing. And I really love that. I’ve already read this one, but because I only figured the whole characters-thing out after about 3 of her books, I’ve been wanting to go back and read them all again. Maybe even see if I can spot more such occurences? 🙂 2. Classics 1. Anne of Green Gables*, L.M. Montgomery: I may love this series, but I’ve never actually completely read it. What with the Netflix series, I’ve decided that this is going to be the summer where I finally read them all. Let’s see how that turns out for me, right? 2. Beatrix Potter The Complete Tales*: I got them while on one of the best holidays I’ve ever been on. Also, I just love these stories. And also also: this book is one of the prettiest ones I own 🙂 3. Acting Up*, Melissa Nathan: Yes, I know this isn’t technically a classic. However, it is a retelling of one. Exactly what I love to read in other words, and I’m hoping not to keep my experience with that genre limited to this one book, this summer! 3. Thought-inducing So this summer, I’m graduating. But I really like learning stuff. So I’ve basically decided to keep on learning, albeit not for tests. What I’m trying to say: I am most certainly going to be reading thought-inducing literature this summer, but it might be more of the scholarly kind. None the less, I have some books I’d like to get around to. 1. How to Make Anyone Fall in Love With You: 85 Proven Techniques for Success*, Leil Lowndes: I mean, I don’t know. The premises just seems really interesting, you know? And who doesn’t want some extra succes? 2. We Crossed a Bridge and It Trembled: Voices from Syria*, Wendy Pearlman: Okay, so I don’t know that I’ll actually get to this one. I would really like to, though. One of the editors at the magazine where I’m doing my internship, wrote a book pretty similar to this one. So that one is technically on the list before this one, but both of them seem really interesting to me… 3. What We Lose*, Zinzi Clemmon: So this book is supposed to be out on the 11th of July and it doesn’t even have a picture yet on Amazon. None the less, it starts with the phrase: “I was born as apartheid was dying”, so naturally now I want to read it 🙂 And there you have it, that’s (at least now) my summer TBR!
