Weekly Lists #190: 5 More Books to Rediscover

Would you believe it’s been over 3 years since I wrote about this? You know the ones – the books that touched you in some way or another. The ones that you kinda wish you could read again – but read for the first time. Because they gave you something, and you just kinda want to… Be given that again? Here’s 5 more books to rediscover!

1. On The Other Side, Carrie Hope Fletcher

It took me a while to get into this book the first time I read it, and that’s actually the majority of why I want to read it again. I absolutely loved it by the time I got about halfway through.

However, I feel like I probably would’ve appreciated the story more if I’d gotten further into the book as soon as I started. And also, this was really one of those books that changed my perspective on a lot of things. So going through that again? Yes please! (Goodreads)

2. The Five People You Meet In Heaven, Mitch Albom

I promise you there won’t be a theme in this post… But this is another book about dying. And it’s another one that left me viewing the world in a slightly different way. So, really – it’s only logical that I would want to go through that experience again, right? Right? (Goodreads)

3. “Reading the Books”-Harry Potter Fanfics

Especially this one story by Lady Celestial Star, who managed to create an entire further backstory for Harry Potter. These were the stories that first introduced me to fanfiction tout cours. These were all the rage back in 2011 and they really were something of a gateway.

Unfortunately, most of them were taken down somewhere around 2012-2013 in one of the many fanfiction-raids, and to this day… I kinda miss that experience of seeing how the actual characters could react to their stories! (and listen, I read like 20 of these, that’s a lot of the same characters responding to the same stories!)

4. The Time Traveler’s Wife, Audrey Niffenegger

This book kind of broke me, but in the best possible way. When I started reading it, I actually sat down to just do one chapter. Instead, though, I ploughed straight through. Like, I devoured the book in its entirety. It kind of makes me wish I had take my time for it a bit more – taken the time to enjoy it, you know? (Goodreads)

5. More Than This, Patrick Ness

This book hit me. And I was filled with actual trepidation during the entirety of my reading it. But that’s also about the only thing I actually, actively remember of this book. Which means that, actually, this is also the only book that I actually have a chance of re-experiencing for the first time. Which is, really, the entire point of this post, right?

Anyways, do you have any more books to rediscover as well?? You know, the ones that you wish could change your world again? Be sure to let me know below!
