Book Tags #5: Epic Reads Book Tag
I came across the Epic Reads book tag on Fandoms On The Run’s blog, and it looked like a lot of fun, so I figured I might as well do it!
I know I’ve been doing quite some tags lately, but what can I say – they’re just a ton of fun 🙂 So let’s get started!
1) If you could invite one author and one of their fictional characters to tea, who would you invite and what would you serve them?
I actually wrote an entire post on some of the authors I’d like to meet, but if I also had to invite one of their characters, I think I’d probably go for either Astrid Lindgren and Pippi Longstocking, or J.K. Rowling and Luna Lovegood – just think of all the conversations we could have!
As for what I would serve them, probably tea, fingersandwiches and scones? It seems soffisticated enough à nd everybody would probably find something to their liking in there.
2) What book would you like a prequel for?
You mean, apart from just about every book I’ve ever read? I guess I’d probably go with Harry Potter – I would love a book on nothing but the Marauders (then again: wouldn’t everybody 🙂 )
3) Which two characters (not from the same book) do you think would make a good couple?
I don’t really know why, but I generally have a lot of trouble with these sorts of questions?
I don’t really “need” pairings in most of my books (even though I really love chicklit and romantic books – I dunno) let alone across books!
4) If you ran into your favourite author on the train and could only say one sentence to them, who would it be and what would you say?
I feel like this is such a cliché response, but probably just “Thank You”. As for who, either J.K. Rowling or Astrid Lindgren – that’ll probably have changed by tomorrow, though.
5) What book made you a reader and why?
I don’t really remember? Probably anything by either Astrid Lindgren or Enid Blyton. Those are the first books I can remember reading again and again because I just fell completely in love with them and the story they told…
6) Your book shelf just caught on fire! What book would you save and wh?
The entire Harry Potter series! I just couldn’t live without those.
Alternately, my two first editions of Enid Blyton – my parents got those for me as a souvenir this summer and I love them.
7) What dystopian world would you want to live in if you had to choose and why?
Ideally? Not a single one. If I had to choose, though, probably in the world from The Selection – I read the entire series this summer and I loved them. Also, that world offers at least some semblance of hope to its inhabitants…
8) What is your most epic read of all time?
Either the last Harry Potter Book (because, obviously) or the Dutch translation of the Illiad and the Odyssey by Imme Dros – not only are the translations amazing, there’s a very obvious reason that these works have withstood the hand of time the way they have!
And that’s that for this tag! Be sure to let me know if you’ve already done this one, I would love to see what your response were!
