Book Tags #3: Doctor Who Tag

I’m back with another book tag!
I actually had so much fun with the Harry Potter Spells Tag from last week, so I figured I might as well, right?
This tag was created by BecomingBookish (be sure to go check out the original post!) and as soon as I saw the second question I was sold.

Here’s the deal: I love Doctor Who. I love the ninth Doctor and I think he’s seriously so underrated – and I love LOOOOOVE books. So of course I had to do this tag!

1. The Classics

A classic book that still fits into YA literature

There’s no denying that this one is definitely a classic for the age-group that is YA-literature, but I feel like the story of this one (coming to accept who you really are mixed in with some old-age drama) just makes it that much better. Perfect YA-classic!

2. The Ninth Doctor

A book you feel is very underrated

Now, yes, I know that this is a Jane Austen-book and as such is bound to not be all that underrated – however, whenever anybody thinks of Jane Austen, there first connotation with the author is Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility or Emma. And although I do love those as well, I just really feel like this one definitely deserves more love than it usually gets!

3. David Tennant

A book or series that was hard to say goodbye to when it ended

Well, technically I still haven’t said goodbye to this series (fanfiction, movies, and rereads for the win!) but I guess that just goes to show even more how difficult it was to say goodbye to it!

4. Matt Smith

A book that made you smile

Really this entire series, actually, left me sitting there with a smile – there’s just something about a good, fluffy book that just makes my day every single time 🙂

5. Rose and Ten

One of your ships that never sailed

I honestly don’t know for this one, all I can think of are some couples from tv-series, so I guess I’m just gonna be skipping this one?

6. Weeping Angel

A book that you blinked and it was over

Like, I started this one thinking I would just read one chapter and then get back to studying (we’re talking January exams 2015 here) and all of a sudden it was 23h at night, I had to go to bed and the book was over – and I loved every minute of it! 🙂

7. Daleks

A book you want to exterminate

There were actually quite a few in the running for this one (Fifty Shades of Grey, I’m looking at you), but seeing how as this one is still pretty fresh in my memory (I had to read it in French for one of my literature exams) and it was absolutely impossible to get through – man needs to learn to write for people that haven’t got at least a doctorate! – so this one got the ‘honour’ of being featured here…

8. Bowties Are Cool!

A bandwagon you jumped on early

I think I’d already read it like 6 times by the time the movie came out – and I still reread it from time to time 🙂

9. Run you clever boy, and remember…

A book with an awesome plot twist that you didn’t see coming

So every single book of this series has at least one plot twist that I didn’t see coming, but this one – the first – literally had me going “WHAT” because I seriously did not see that coming. Re-reading it now, it seems (of course) very obvious, but at the time when I first read this (I think I was like 10 or something) the twist was huge, unexpected, and awesome 🙂

10. Raxacoricofallapatorius

A book with hard to pronounce names or titles

THe original title of this is La Guerra de Las Brujas (War of the Witches in English) and literally the only reason this one is here is because I still have no idea how to pronounce any of the Spanish names – mainly because I’m afraid I’m gonna do it wrong and insult somebody like that, but oh well…

11. The T.A.R.D.I.S.

A book that took you back in time

So this story is based on true facts and tells the story of the children of a family that are left behind in Belgium while their parents go ahead to America to try and create a new future for their entire family. Not only does it take place in the early 1900s, I actually read this for the first time when I was, like, 10, so reading this one definitely takes me back in time in so many ways!
