Monthly Updates #13: May Readings
It’s May.
May.
That’s all.
And what have I been reading? Not an awful lot, actually…
1. Some books, but not a lot
You can find the detailed listing in my April Reading Challenges Update, but, well, suffice it to say that I really haven’t had the time to read that much – like, I’d actually been doing pretty good, with at least 2 books per month, but, yeah, that just wasn’t working this past month…
2. French books, too many
And, yes, you can also see this in said Reading Challenges Update, but let me just reiterate: what reading I have been able to get done, was mostly for school, and as I only have French courses these days, you can probably guess that a (too) large majority of those books I did get read was in French…
3. We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves, Karen Joy Fowler
I started this one almost a month ago, now, and I still haven’t actually gotten beyond page 60, but what I have read, I like.
As soon as I’m done writing my master’s dissertation, though, I’m going to take the time and literally just sit there and read it all in one go – I need to finish this one!
(I actually also really need to finish A Working Theory of Love, seeing how as I’ve been reading that one since January, but I guess it’ll just have to wait as well…)
4. Quite some blogs
I know last week’s Monthly Update was about nothing but my favourite bloggers, but, yes, what time I do have to read these days has been going to reading blogs, mainly, if nothing else then just because at least I feel like I actually can “achieve” (i.e. finish) something when I’m reading those!
5. Too much fanfiction, probably
I’ve mentioned before (everywhere) that I’m just a bit of a Potterhead, and as such I do love to find my relaxation in reading some HP-themed fanfiction.
My OTP’s and ships change quite often, but these last couple of weeks I’ve been really loving a good James/Lilly story – so if you have any tips for me on that front (I like cute, humorous and romantic), give me a shout, yeah?
Anyways, there you have it: what I’ve been reading these last couple of weeks – not too much, unfortunately, but then again, that master’s dissertation really does have to get finished one of these days (preferably a soon day), so I guess I’ll just have to make my peace with it 🙂
What have you been reading this past month?
Be sure to let me know below!
