Don’t worry, I know I already did an episode on just Celtic Woman Christmas music. However – there’s more to Christmas music than just Celtic Woman, you know. Yes, I’m aware that sounds weird, coming from me, considering I always add at least 2 CW songs to each holiday music list I write. In this case, though – hopefully, at least – that won’t happen. So all-round Christmas music? Here’s my favourites!
My Grown Up Christmas List
I included Underneath the Christmas Tree by Kelly Clarkson in last year’s seasonal music-post. Don’t worry, though – she has plenty more amazing Christmas music. And My Grown Up Christmas List is just one of many examples! (The OG3NE version of this song is pretty darn fabulous as well, by the way!)
While I love an introspective, calming Christmas song as much as the next person? From time to time, it’s nice to have some happy, upbeat music as the background to your putting up the Christmas tree! (And the Celtic Woman-version is pretty darn good as well!)
In line with the previous song, this is some more “up-tempo happy chappy music”. I first heard this song last year at the OG3NE-Christmas show and I’ve been slightly obsessed with it ever since… It’s just so fun and quick! if you like The Andrews Sisters, I also really like their version of I’d Like to Hitch a Ride with Santa Clause! Those vocal arrangements are just amazing!
Do You Hear What I Hear
You know how sometimes a song feels “just right”? Well, that’s what I have with this song. I’ve not yet come across any version that I didn’t like – although I have to admit that this version, as well as the Celtic Woman version are probably my two favourites.
Where Are You Christmas
I finally – for the first time ever – watched The Grinch earlier this year. I quite liked the movie, but I really liked this song. Again – there’s a OG3NE version that I love as well, although in this case something has to be said for the original!
Anyways, what’s been some of your favourite Christmas music these holidays? Be sure to let me know below! And in the mean time, feel free to check out the rest of this year’s blogmas, as well as my other music– and Christmas-posts!
