Weekly Lists #34: Favourite Beauty Products
Every week I post a list of 5 random things – this week: my favourite beauty products.
Now here’s a post I never thought I’d write! I have to admit (although I’m rather doubtful as to how much of an admission this actually is): I’m not actually that much of a girly-girl – I’m more likely to stick my eye out with a liner than to actually get that winged-thingy right, let alone the whole contouring matter.
However, these past couple of months, I have discovered some “beauty products” (and you can take the word “beauty” in the broadest sense, here) that I love and I figured I’d share them with you!
This post is not sponsored in any way or form. It does, however, contain affiliate links.
1. Yves Rocher Hand Creme
All hand cremes, really!
If they’re Yves Rocher, I love them – their hand cremes are just so lovely and soft, very hydrating, but unlike most I’d tried before, they don’t actually leave my skin feeling greasy in any way!
(and considering that I put my hand creme on anywhere, anytime, that really is quite useful!)
I have to admit, though: my absolute favourite is probably the candied orange & cinnamon one from their 2015 Christmas collection – I’ve been using it since last November (so I bought, like, 5 of them, so what?) and I still haven’t gotten tired of that scent!
2. Lancôme Poême Eau de Parfum
I’m honestly not even the slightest bit exaggerating when I say that this might just be the best smell I’ve ever had the pleasure of smelling – I’m telling you, I’d been looking for a smell that was sufficiently ‘me’, for me to put it on every day, and with this one I’ve finally found it!
It’s kind of sweet and fruity, but at the same time there’s something exotic about it. And, what makes me love it just about the most: it’s actually quite subtle, and not as in-your-face as some perfumes tend to be – serious recommendation, if you’re still looking for “your smell”!
(Although, I have to admit: the reason I originally tried it was just its name – I mean, Poême, poem, really, could it be more aptly named?)
3. Yves Rocher Raspberry Peppermint Shower Gel
This one says on the bottle “Energizing Bath & Shower gel”, and I have to admit: it certainly is energizing! This smells so fresh and spring-y, when I’m done taking a shower I’m just kind of ready for a whole day of sun, fun things, and ice cream, you know?
Also an advantage: it leaves my skin feeling nice and hydrated, which is always a plus!
4. John Frieda Miraculous Recovery Intensive Masque
Let me tell you, okay: this thing is a god-sent!
My hair does this really weird frizzy-thing where it, basically, just seems as if I have a halo around my head all. the. freaking. time.
Charming, I’m sure, but after a while you get a bit tired of not being able to actually get a decent pony tail going – and that’s your only option to begin with, because leaving my hair loose just isn’t an option when it’s behaving like that – so: always.
You basically just put this stuff on your hair right after you’ve washed it, leave it in for a couple of minutes, rinse it out, and you’re done! It actually does the trick, and what’s more: it smells delicious!
5. Yves Rocher Apricot Body Scrub
I seriously have the most sensitive skin ever, and as such I have to be really careful with what type of scrubs I use – this one, however, works perfectly fine, leaves my skin feel lovely and soft, and actually hydrates it, rather than just making it feel raw and painful for days on end (and trust me on this one: that has actually happened!)
So, there you have it: 5 of my favourite beauty products – I suddenly realise that I really seem to love Yves Rocher but then again: their products do their job, smell delicious, and are, all considered, quite excellent where prices are concerned – so why wouldn’t I love it? 🙂
Do you also use any of these products? Do you have any other tips on what to do to keep the frizz in my hair down? Be sure to let me know below!
