Weekly Lists #67: 5 Libraries I want to Visit
So everybody probably knows by now that I love books. What probably follows from that rather logically, is that I also love libraries. Like, to the point that I’ve basically already designed what I want my private library to look like, later, when I have my own house, in about 50 years… Apart from that, though, there’s also a bunch of libraries that I want to visit. And here’s my current top 5!
1. The Central Library of Leuven University
It’s basically looks like Hogwarts on the inside, okay.
Sure, I might have some bad associations with this one because I used to go there to study, but still: just look at that facade!
2. The Vatican Secret Archives
I’ve wanted to go there ever since I read Dan Brown’s The Bernini Mystery honestly, no shame. I loved that book and I want to see all of this in real life. Also, can you even imagine the kind of treasures that must be lying there?
3. Bodleian Library (Oxford)
If the first library in this list looked just like Hogwarts, this one actually is Hogwarts. Seriously. As in: this is where they filmed (some of) the Harry Potter library scenes. And yes, I’ve already been here, but you know what? I need to go back! Like yesterday!
4. Trinity College Dublin
Another one I’ve technically already been to, but I just want to go back so badly – this library is absolutely stunning and it has such amazing documents!
5. Austrian National Library, Vienna
So obviously this entire list has a theme, and that theme is places that look like they could be part of a movie. This last one definitely fits into that category, or at the very least: the State Hall does. What can I say: just look at it!
So there you have it, that’s my current top 5 libraries that I want to visite. Do you have any other libraries which you feel should definitely be part of this list? Be sure to let me know below!
