Book Tags #14: Mid Year Book Freak Out
So apparently I divide my year into two big parts: everything before summer break, and everything after summer break. As such, it didn’t really dawn on me that the Mid Year part of the Mid Year Book Freak Out tag? It’s technically already gone. None the less, here’s my take on this tag!
This tag was created by ReadLikeWildFire and Ely Jayne, so if you want to see the original version… 🙂
1. Best book you’ve read so far in 2017
In general: The Last Battle, the last book from The Chronicles of Narnia!
Some other highlights: The Story of Awkward, Have a Little Faith and Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality.
2. Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2017
Definitely The Last Battle again 🙂
3. New release you haven’t read yet, but want to.
I’m awful at keeping up with this stuff, so I honestly don’t really have any 😮
4. Most anticipated release for the second half of the year.
Same as last question
5. Biggest disappointment.
That was just a couple of steps beyond a disappointment. To the point where I almost felt offended :p
6. Biggest surprise.
I mean, how good do you really expect a free book to be? And then it was amazing!
7. Favourite new author. (Debut or new to you)
My reading’s been so scattered this year, I don’t really have a new author I fell in love with. I don’t even really know that I read anything by a new author… I guess I did fall back in love with? Like the author from the Suske en Wiske-comics and Cathy Kelly. Although, to what extent I ever really fell out of love with her… 😀
8. Newest fictional crush.
Again, I don’t really have one 😮 Am I a bad reader?
9. Newest favourite character.
It’s from a book I’d already read, but I’ve really come to appreciate Neville Longbottom a lot more!
10. Book that made you cry.
The Last Battle. This entire post is basically just the same three books being repeated, right?
11. Book that made you happy.
The Story of Awkward – again!
12. Favourite book to film adaptation you saw this year.
I mean, I loved The Flash. That counts, right?
13. Favourite review you’ve written this year.
My review for Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality. Because one of my goals for this year was to count the fanfiction I read as part of my reading challenges. And that also meant reviewing them!
14. Most beautiful book you’ve bought so far this year (or received)
This one was technically for Christmas, but it’s definitely the most beautiful book. So yay for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them!
15. What books do you need to read by the end of the year?
I would like to get some books read to make sure I can get further along on my challenges, that’s for sure. But apart from that, I promised myself that I would just read whatever I felt like this year!
And there you have it, that’s the Mid Year Freak Out Book Tag done! Somehow, it’s left me feeling as if I haven’t really read all that much? So yeah, freak out induced!
