Weekly Lists #130: Favorite Eurovision 2018 Songs
So, as those of you living in Europe probably know – Eurovision is upon us. Next Tuesday has the first semi-final, that Thursday is the second semi-final and then – of course: Saturday May 12th. The grand finale. The moment we’ve all been waiting for. Well, somewhat 🙂 Now, as any good Eurovision-fan, I did my research and listened to all entrees just once. You know, just to get a feel of things. See what this year has to offer. And for your enjoyment: here’s my favourite Eurovision 2018 songs!
1. Israel
Every edition of Eurovision needs at least one song that is completely out of the ordinary for what is currently on the charts. A chicken impersonation, crazy dancing and then that song? Fits the bill just right 🙂
2. Czech Republic
There’s a camel. I repeat, there’s a camel. Also, I feel as if I’ve heard this melody before, but that might just be me.
3. Estonia
Because, well… Opera. What other reason do I need really? You know, apart from the fact that her dress takes up literally the entire stage. That’s some dedication right there.
4. Spain
I’ve actually not been too big of a fan of most entries by Spain the last couple of years. This year, however? I have to admit I really like Spain’s song. The duet, the fact that they seem to sing on key…. The cuteness 🙂
5. A best of
I have to admit I’m not that fond of Belgium’s song this year, but there are some crazy things happening. The Netherlands have a country-song, Georgia has a Jazz band, as you already saw: there’s opera, and Norway has sent back their 2008 winner, Alexander Rybak – that one’s catchy, but nowhere near the level of his previous entry. All in all,I can give you just one piece of advice: get ready for next week. It looks like it’s going to be a crazy ride 🙂
