In spite of what the title of this post might say? These are 100% all movies I’m planning on (or at least: hoping to) watch this holiday season. IF they also happen to be the perfect Christmas movies for kids? Well, that’s just an added bonus, isn’t it?
How the Grinch Stole Christmas
I’m kind of ashamed to have to admit it, but… I’d never seen this movie. Until last year, that is. When a boring Sunday afternoon with nothing better to do, got me and the bf desperate enough to watch it. And then kind of maybe watch it a second time straight after?
The Polar Express
I still don’t know how it happened that the first time I watched this movie was just days before Easter – but either way, since then, it’s become a returning favourite. If nothing else, than just because I really love Tom Hanks. Oh, and that song, you know the one – When Christmas Comes to Town? Absolute bop. Or at least: at times, the only song that’d get me calm enough to go to sleep 🙂
Home Alone 1 & 2
We’re just going to keep on pretending that the second one is where this series of movies stopped, okay? Apart from that, there’s just something about this movie’s combination of basic slapstick and heart-warming holiday spirit that gets me every time. Also, that scream with the aftershave? And “I made my family disappear”? Pure, utter genius acting.
Eloise at Christmas Time
Talk about ending on a high note – Eloise at Christmas Time might just be my favourite holiday movie. Ever. No exaggerations necessary, just plain old holiday atmosphere movie-fied.
