Perfect brownies

Apparently, I’m in the mood for chocolate. Or at least, that’s what you might conclude based on my apparent love for recipes this holiday season. From chocolate chip cookies to chocolate fondant, I figured it was about time I put my favourite recipe for real, perfect brownies here!

Ingredients

  • 300g dark chocolate
  • 375g butter
  • 6 eggs
  • 450g sugar
  • 120g flower
  • 150 cacao powder
  • 1,5 teaspoon baking powder
  • nuts of your choice

What to do

  1. Put the chocolate and the butter in a microwave-proof bowl and heat them up, half a minute at a time
(be sure not to burn your chocolate by doing this in small intervals, and be sure to stir in between)
  2. Combine the eggs and the sugar and mix until the mixture until it becomes a paler mixture
  3. Combine the cacao powder, the flower and the baking powder
  4. Combine the dry ingredients with the egg mixture and stir until it becomes smooth
  5. Mix the chocolate and butter so that there’s no chunks left
  6. Fold half of the chocolate mixture into the rest of the dough, then add the other half and combine well

How to bake

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C
  2. Take an oven dish and cover it completely in parchment paper
  3. Spread some nuts of your choice in the baking tray (my personal favourites are wallnuts)
  4. Spread the dough over the nuts and make sure it reaches all the corners
  5. Bake for about 20 minutes, then take the brownies out of the oven and let them cool down
  6. The brownies will be best to eat once they’ve completely cooled down, ideally even in the fridge

Be sure to let me know if you end up trying this recipe – it’s really easy, and I’ve literally never had these perfect brownies go wrong 🙂
